Augusto Romano Burelli (* 1938 in Udine ) is an Italian architect and professor of drafting and design at the University of Architecture (IUAV) in Venice . Since 1991 he has been head of the architectural planning department there.

Life

After graduating in architecture from the University of Architecture in Venice , Burelli joined the group of architects around Carlo Aymonino . In 1975 he became professor of building composition ( composizione architettonica ) and from 1991 to 1997 he was head of the project planning department. During this time he also taught at some German universities. From 2007 to 2010 he was President of the Board for Architecture Studies at the University of Udine , where he is still a lecturer in building composition. Together with his wife Paola Sonia Gennaro , Burelli is the author of numerous publications and curator of international exhibitions, including the presentation 1781–1841 Schinkel . L'architetto del principe (German: The architect of the prince ), which was shown in Venice and Rome in 1981 and for the first time showed drawings from the Altes Museum outside of the former GDR . Burelli's works have also been published in English and German translation.

In 1991 he received the Stone Lion for the best Italian contribution to the fifth international architecture exhibition at the Venice Biennale .
