Auliʻi Cravalho (born November 22, 2000 in Kohala , Hawaii ) is an American actress , voice actress and singer .
Life
She made her film debut in the 2016 film Vaiana - Paradise Has a Hook . She speaks and sings the lead role of 16-year-old Vaiana (or Moana in the original) both in the English original of the film and in the Hawaiian version .
In 2017 she received an Annie Award in the category “Outstanding Achievement in Voice Acting in an Animated Feature Production”. At the 2017 Academy Awards , she sang the movie How Far I'll Go with Lin-Manuel Miranda . The songs Where You Are , I am Moana (Song of Ancestors) and Know Who You Are each received a gold record in the USA. In Great Britain I am Moana (Song of Ancestors) was honored with silver.
In February 2017, she was cast in the lead role of Lillette in the NBC drama series Rise . The series started in March 2018 and was discontinued after a season.
