Aurelio Galleppini
Aurelio Galleppini alias Galep (born August 28, 1917 in Casale di Pari , Province of Grosseto , Italy ; † March 10, 1994 in Chiavari , Province of Genoa , Italy) was an Italian cartoonist . He achieved particular fame through the comic book Tex Willer .
life and work
The self-taught Galleppini published his first comics in the mid-1930s. The comics Pino il Mozzo and Le Perle del Mar d'Oman were created for the Mondadori publishing house in collaboration with Federico Pedrocchi . From 1940 Galleppini lived and worked in Florence , where he worked for various magazines. After he was drafted in the meantime, Galleppini returned to civilian life in 1947 and settled in Milan. Together with the comic author Giovanni Luigi Bonelli he created the comic series Tex Willer , which appeared from 1948. In addition, Galleppini drew a comic adaptation of Gulliver's travels in 1954 and L'Uomo del Texas in the series Un uomo un'avventura in 1977 .
