description

The designation "6-17" meant: 6 cylinders and 17 taxable horsepower. The car designed by Ferdinand Porsche had an engine block made of light metal and a camshaft driven by a vertical shaft.

The car had a 6-cylinder in-line engine installed at the front, which drove the rear wheels via a 4-speed gearbox. Front wheels were attached to a rigid axle and had longitudinal leaf springs. The rear wheels were also attached to a rigid axle supported by cantilever semi-springs on the chassis. The cooler was designed as a pointed cooler. The foot brake worked on the drive shaft and the rear wheels.

In 1924 the AD 6-17 was replaced by the ADV model.
