The Autobahn triangle Charlottenburg (abbreviation: AD Charlottenburg ; short form: Dreieck Charlottenburg ) is a freeway triangle in Berlin . Here the federal motorway 111 (motorway feeder Hamburg) meets the western Berlin city ring (A 100).

location

The triangle is located in the urban area of Berlin in the district Charlottenburg-Nord of the district Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf . The surrounding districts are Charlottenburg , Siemensstadt , Berlin-Westend and Tegel . It is located around five kilometers west of the Brandenburg Gate and around 20 kilometers northeast of Potsdam .

Not far from the Charlottenburg triangle is the Charlottenburg Palace (in the south), Tegel Airport (in the north) and the Spree (in the southeast).

The Charlottenburg motorway triangle has junction number 4 on the A 100 and number 13 on the A 111.

Design and state of development

The A 100 has three lanes in each direction, the A 111 two lanes in each direction. All connection ramps have two lanes, but there are only connections from south to north and vice versa, connections from the A 111 in the direction of Mitte are served via the Kurt-Schumacher-Platz exit (formerly: Kreuz Reinickendorf ).

The triangle is designed as a fork . Connections to Siemensdamm and Tegeler Weg are integrated.

The main route runs in a straight line from west to east and connects the A 100 coming from the Rudolf Wissell Bridge in the south with the A 111 running north.

In addition to a complete renovation, a planned renovation should also result in improved and more efficient traffic management for all traffic relationships.

Traffic volume

The Charlottenburg triangle is used by around 149,000 vehicles every day.
