The car dealership Jacob Fleischhauer is a German car dealer founded in 1924 in Cologne-Raderberg with 13 locations. It employs around 1200 people.

history

The company was founded by Jacob Fleischhauer in Cologne-Raderberg in 1924 and focused on Ford vehicles . In addition, the representation of General Motors with the affiliated brands was taken over. Walter Franz became managing director after Fleischhauer's death. The company moved to Luxemburger Strasse , and branches were opened in Bonn and Aachen . In 1932 the brands Wanderer , Audi , the LKW Phenomenon and Horch and in 1939 the representation of VW were added to the portfolio. Four years later, the current headquarters in Cologne-Ehrenfeld were moved into.

After being destroyed by bombs in World War II , the building was rebuilt, and in 1948 the general agency for VW and Porsche in Cologne and Aachen was taken over. A year later, 570 people were employed in sales and service. In 1963, a branch was opened at Hohenzollernring 25 in the spectacular commercial and residential building with a trapezoidal floor plan and a cantilevered roof panel. In 1967 the Audi agency in Cologne, Bonn and Aachen was taken over, the number of employees grew to 1050. Further branches followed in Cologne-Radeberg.

Purchasing has been carried out centrally in Cologne-Poll since 1971 .

At the beginning of the 1990s, the company expanded to Thuringia and Saxony with a focus on industrial engines . With the acquisition of further car dealerships in Bad Kreuznach and Mönchengladbach , new locations were opened up. In 1998, the range was expanded to include the Seat and Škoda brands . The Audi center was inaugurated in Cologne in 2001 and the Volkswagen center in 2002. The Volkswagen Center was opened in Bonn in 2005 and the Volkswagen Piazza in Euskirchen the following year . A new Porsche Center was built in Bonn in 2007. In May 2008, Fleischhauer took over the Rheinmotors operation in Cologne-Porz . After the new Porsche Center was built in Cologne (2010), the Volkswagen Center Cologne-Mitte (2012), the Audi Center Cologne-Mitte and the Volkswagen Center Europaplatz Aachen (2013) were opened.
