The Autonomous University of Lisbon ( Portuguese: Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa ) is the oldest private university in the country.

It was founded in 1985 on a legal basis by the Cooperativa de Ensino Universitário (CEU), which also manages it financially. The main building is the 17th century Palácio dos Condes do Redondo on Rua Santa Marta . As the only university in Lisbon, it is located in the city center. Attached is a management school, the Escola de Gestão & Negócios , which u. a. offers an MBA program in event management.
