  • The Brzi put 24 is under construction Serbian highway from Kragujevac to Batocina to Autoput A1 . It is also known as the Autoput Kragujevac – Batočina .

    background

With the acquisition of Zastava by Fiat in autumn 2008, the “Fiat” project, which envisages the construction of Fiat Puntos in Kragujevac under the Zastava brand, has become of national importance. With the construction of the expressway, the infrastructure in the Autostadt Kragujevac and in the region is to be improved, thus enabling further large investments in the Okrug Šumadija .

    Route

The 24.1 km long route should run parallel to the existing trunk road to Batočina and connect there to the A1 autoput . On peak days, up to 8,000 vehicles use this route.

    Construction progress

Construction of the first section began at the end of 2008 and this 5.5 km long section was opened to traffic on May 6, 2009, the day of the city of Kragujevac . This section was the first highway-like road in Okrug Šumadija. Another 4.1 km long four-lane section was then completed around Cvetojevac . Thus a total of 9.6 km of the expressway are ready.

The 3 km section between the Badnjevac and Gradac junctions has been under construction since the end of 2011 . This section should be completed within 120 days. Construction delays led to the extension of the construction work until 2014. In May 2013, construction began on the remaining 3.5 km long section between Cvetojevac and the Badnjevac junction. In July 2012, construction work began on the 3.7 km long section from the Gradac junction to the town of Batočina. Construction is planned for the remaining 4.3 kilometers of the route to the Batočina motorway triangle. All sections should be completed by the end of 2015 [obsolete] . The extension of the road by a bypass from Kragujevac north or south of the city is being planned.

    Expansion status

The first 5.5 km of the road are built with three lanes per lane, the rest of the route is to be built with two lanes per lane.
