The Authors House Verlag GmbH is a publishing house based in Berlin, which was founded in 1996 by Gerhild Tieger and Manfred Plinke as a publisher for author information. Authors House itself is a protected trademark. In addition to the publisher's homepage, a guide homepage for authors with information, addresses and news for authors is presented at autoren-magazin.de.

The publisher specializes in guidebooks on creative writing and media topics (film and theater). The publishing program also includes translations from American and English. Books are published by Sibylle Knauss , Birgit Vanderbeke , Marion Gay , Joachim Fest , Lajos Egri , Natalie Goldberg , Syd Field , Joyce Carol Oates , Ursula K. Le Guin , Sylvia Englert , Ray Bradbury , Sidney Lumet , Claude Chabrol , Blake, among others Snyder , Sol Stein , Thomas de Quincey . In addition, the author 's manual is published in the authors' house .

The publisher gained additional prominence in the German-language book trade when it was sued by the Bund Deutscher Schriftsteller ( Association of German Writers) in 2006 for a critical article about publishers of printing subsidies. The lawsuit was dismissed.
