Katja Brandis

Katja Brandis (* 1970 ; actually Sylvia Englert ) is a German journalist and writer. Since 1996 she has published over 70 books under two different pseudonyms and her real name, some of them together with other authors, including mainly children's and youth literature , but also non-fiction and novels for adults.

With her novel And nobody will know you she came in 2014 a. a. in second place at the Landshut Youth Book Prize . The volumes of her youth book series Woodwalkers and Seawalkers were all placed on the Spiegel bestseller list (youth book).

Life

Brandis grew up in the Rhine-Main area , where he studied American, German and English. After many years of writing in the "quiet little room", she joined the Frankfurt writers' circle during her studies , which accompanied the creation of her first novel The Treason of the Fire Guild . She chose the pseudonym “Brandis” in honor of her favorite writer, Nikolai von Michalewsky , who also publishes under a pseudonym (Mark Brandis) . Today she lives with her husband and son near Munich and works as an author.
