Silvio Neuendorf

Silvio Neuendorf (born November 1, 1967 in Echtz near Düren ) is a German children's book illustrator .

Life

After graduating from high school, Silvio Neuendorf studied graphic design at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences from 1990 to 1994 . After successful completion he is u. a. from 1995 working as a freelance illustrator. In 1996 he published his first book, The Jungle Book, with Coppenrath Verlag . Since then he has illustrated over 150 books for children and young people, among others with the authors Isabel Abedi , Otti Pfeiffer , Gina Ruck-Pauquèt , Frauke Nahrgang and Knister .

Among his best-known works are the adventures of Captain Sharky , which have also been published by Coppenrath Verlag since 2006. The texts are by Jutta Langreuter . Captain Sharky has been translated into more than eleven languages. So far, eleven stories have been published as a book and radio play. At the same time, Capt'n Sharky is a merchandising product range from Coppenrath Verlag / die Spiegelburg and is also marketed by various licensees.

In 2010 the artist Gee Vero started the project The Art of Inclusion . Vero sends an unfinished portrait to personalities from politics, sport, science or culture with the request to add the work of art according to their ideas. Two - mostly personally unknown - people create an individual work of art. By 2014, more than 100 portraits had been created in this way. Neuendorf worked on this project in 2012.

In September 2016 Neuendorf took part in the Comiciade at the Ludwig Forum for International Art in Aachen .

Neuendorf has lived and worked in Aachen since 1988. He has been married since 1995 and has two sons.
