Averil Williams
Averil Williams ( Averil Muriel Williams; born March 19, 1935 in Essex - † December 16, 2019 ) was a British javelin thrower .
In 1958, starting for England , she won bronze at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff and came 14th at the European Athletics Championships in Stockholm .
At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 , she was eliminated in qualification. In 1970 she was fifth for Wales starting at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh .
In 1957 and 1958 she was English champion, 1963 and 1964 New Zealand champion. She set her personal best of 49.50 m on July 16, 1960 in London .
