The prototype of the single-seat Czechoslovak combat biplane Avia BH-6 was tested in 1923. It was developed at the same time as the monoplane BH-7 following a tender by the Czechoslovak Ministry of Defense and had a wooden structure with a slim fuselage, in which the lower wings were larger than the upper ones. The wings were braced on both sides with an I-pillar. The engine was a 300 hp (224 kW) V8 engine Hispano-Suiza 8 Fb (built by Škoda ). The BH-6 prototype crashed after just a few flights. The top speed was 220 km / h.
