Awudu Issaka (born June 26, 1979 in Sunyani ) is a former Ghanaian soccer player .

Career

Issaka played in Ghana for Asante Kotoko and Prampram FC , before he aroused the interest of European clubs through his performances in the Ghanaian youth team. He switched to the youth team of the Belgian first division club RSC Anderlecht . After a year he moved to France to the AJ Auxerre , where he was unable to assert himself and moved to Germany in 1998. Isaaka came to TSV 1860 Munich , he had signed an amateur contract with the Lions. In the next few years he ran for the amateur team in the Oberliga and the Regionalliga. In the 1998/99 season on matchday 31 Issaka was used in the Bundesliga . In the 0-3 defeat against Hamburger SV , he was substituted on for Ned Zelic . It was Issaka's only appearance in German professional football. In 2003 he moved back to Ghana and played for Prampram FC, Liberty Professionals and Tema Youth . With the latter club he ended his active career in 2011.

National team

With the U-17 in his country, he won the 1995 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Ecuador and took the U-20 at the 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship in Malaysia in part. Ghana finished fourth with his team.
