Axel Peters

Axel Peters (born April 16, 1944 ) is a German sculptor .

Life

Axel Peters completed an apprenticeship as a locomotive fitter before he began studying education. He was de-registered for political reasons. He worked as a stage technician at the theater, later as a theater master and technical director. Axel Peters began another training, this time an apprenticeship as a stone mason. He was a guest student at the Dresden University of Fine Arts and has been a freelance sculptor since 1978. Because of his attitude critical of the GDR, he was banned from working. From 1989 to 1994, Peters worked in the New Forum . He was district administrator of the Rostock-Land district and after the district reform in 1994 he was again a sculptor in Behnkenhagen near Rostock. Later he moved to Berlin where he lived and worked .
