The Ayekliff is an ice-free cliff on Carlsson Bay in the southwest of James Ross Island near the tip of the Antarctic Peninsula in the Weddell Sea . It lies between Cape Broms in the northwest and Cape Foster in the southeast and forms the western boundary of the bay. To the west of the cliff is Nygren Point .

The Ayekliff was named in 2005 after Heinz Aye (* 1936), who, as captain at Hapag-Lloyd Kreuzfahrten, led around 100 Antarctic cruises. On 29./30. In January 2000 he circled the James Ross Island with the Bremen after the Prince Gustav Ice Shelf in the Röhss Bay broke in 1997 and the Prince Gustav Canal was passable along its entire length.

The German State Committee for the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research and for the International Arctic Science Committee (LaSCAR / ISAC) accepted Claudia Meixner's proposal for a name on June 2, 2005, after the Standing Committee on Geographical Names (StAGN) of the German-speaking countries approved it on March 23, 2004.
