Friedefeld is a district of the town of Penkun in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

geography

The place is three kilometers northwest of Penkun. The northwestern edge of the Friedefeld district extends to the Randow , which also forms the state border with neighboring Brandenburg here. In the east, the district extends to the locality of Wollin and in the south it is bounded by the federal highway 11 .

The neighboring towns are Bagemühl in the north, Battinsthal in the northeast, Wollin in the east, Penkun in the southeast, Sommersdorf , Radewitz and Schmölln in the southwest, Schwaneberg in the west and Albrechtshof and Battin in the northwest.

history

In 1714, Friedefeld was laid out as a Vorwerk on desolate grounds by Wollin . At that time it was part of the Penkun property that was owned by Colonel Heinrich von der Osten .

Friedefeld was part of the former municipality of Wollin. On January 1, 1999, both places were incorporated into Penkun and became districts there.

traffic

Friedefeld can only be reached via the municipal road "Friedefelder Straße", which connects the town with neighboring Wollin. Via this road it is connected to the district road VG 85 , via which Penkun can be reached.
