Schwaneberg is part of the municipality in the Schmölln district and was incorporated on January 1, 1974, the place belongs to the municipality of Randowtal . Schwaneberg is 3 kilometers from Schmölln on the L 251 to Brüssow. At the place there is the small Kesselsee and the two lakes Mühlensee and Der Haussee, registered as DAV waters . The latter also has a swimming area. In a field near Schwaneberg there is a very well-preserved large stone grave and several remains of megalithic graves .

history

Schwaneberg was first mentioned in a document in 1288, as early as 1239 the place name appeared as part of the personal name "Henricus de Svaneberch". It belonged first to the Duchy of Pomerania , in 1354 the association changed the village according to the provisions in the Treaty of Oderberg for Mark Brandenburg . The place name goes back to the place Schwaneberg near Magdeburg as a name transfer .

On January 1, 1974 Schwaneberg was incorporated into Schmölln. Since the Brandenburg district reform of 1993, the place has belonged to the Uckermark district. On December 31, 2001, Schmölln became part of the newly formed municipality of Randowtal .
