Wollin is a residential area in the municipality of Randowtal in the Uckermark district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is 11 kilometers west-southwest of Penkun and 15 kilometers east-southeast of Prenzlau . The neighboring towns are Schmölln and Räuberberg in the northeast, Grünz in the east, Wartin in the southeast, Lützlow in the south, Neu-Kleinow in the southwest, Kleinow in the west and Damme and Eickstedt in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of the place comes from the year 1321. It is listed on page 479 in the first volume of the second main part of the Codex diplomaticus Brandenburgensis with the Latin entry "illi de Wollin". This entry is part of a directory from the year mentioned, which lists payments made by the Dukes of Pomerania for war damage to vassals and citizens.
