Ziemkendorf is a part of the municipality Randowtal of the Gramzow office in the Uckermark district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is ten kilometers east of Prenzlau . The neighboring towns are Grenz and Wallmow in the northeast, Rollberg in the east, Eickstedt expansion and Eickstedt in the southeast, Damme in the south, Drense in the southwest, Grünow in the west and Mönchehof in the northwest.

history

Ziemkendorf was first mentioned in writing in 1288. In the more recent translation of main part 1, volume 21, page 450 of the Codex diplomaticus Brandenburgensis in section “IV. Comparison of the monastery with the town of Gramzow via its field mark, logging and fishing permissions, from the year 1288 “a corresponding entry. It speaks of hooves , which are located according to Schmollen and Zinckendorff's worth. In a further document on page 152 of the aforementioned work, a notarial certificate from the Prenzlau council dated April 14, 1336 reported about a resident Johannes de Tzymekendorp (later the von Ziemkendorf family) who had made a donation to the Marienkirche.

The Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 recorded the village on page 235 with the name Symekendorff . Later evidence suggests 1489 from to Zintzkendorp , in 1497 by cymes , 1534 by Zymenckendorff and 1566 of Zungern . Until 1816 a part of the Stolpirischer Kreis of Uckermark , the village became part of Prenzlau in 1817 . From 1952 it belonged to the Prenzlau district of the same name in the Neubrandenburg district of the GDR .
