Schmölln is a district of the municipality Randowtal in the district of Uckermark in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is 9 kilometers west of Penkun and 15 kilometers east of Prenzlau . The neighboring towns are Wegnershof in the north, Schwaneberg in the north-east, Radewitz in the east, Grünz in the south-east, Wollin in the south-west, Eickstedt in the west and Eickstedt expansion , Rollberg and Vogelsang in the north-west.

Special

The Schmölln district has an entrance and exit to and from the Autobahn 11. At this point, it has a road surface made of badly damaged concrete over a length of about three kilometers. This is the last piece of the original motorway from 1936 that has never been renovated.

Plans to renovate the carriageway from the end of 2017 had not yet been implemented by June 2018. In the spring of 2019, extensive renovation work began on the section, which, according to the media, should be completed by the end of 2020.
