history

Administrative affiliation

The community belonged to the Prenzlau-Land office from 1992 until its dissolution in 2001 and then moved to the Gramzow office .

The places Damme and Drense were incorporated into Grünow on December 31, 1997.

Grünow district

Mentioned for the first time in 1287, Grünow was founded by German colonists with close connections to the nunnery in Seehausen . In the middle of the 17th century Grünow belonged to the Gramzow office. Around 1900 there was an estate in the village , half-farmers , working-class families and some craftsmen.

District of Damme

The place Damme appears for the first time in a document in 1354. In 1930 the estate was relocated: the new houses were close to the fields that belonged to them, so that today, at four kilometers, Damme is an extremely long village.

Dreesch district

Established as Vorwerk Drösch in 1792, the place belonged to the von Arnim family on Kröchlendorff . In 1977 there was a change from the former municipality of Bietikow (today Uckerfelde ) to the municipality of Grünow.

District of Drense

Today is Burgwall the ukrani seen in Drense, which dates back to the 8th century. The castle is mentioned in documents from 1240 to 1248. During excavations in the 1980s, goods from Poland , Moravia and the Kievan Rus were found.
