Community structure

The districts Fredersdorf , Golm and Zichow as well as the residential area Zichow-Lindenwegiedlung belong to the community .

history

Fredersdorf, Golm and Zichow belonged to the Angermünde district in the Prussian province of Brandenburg since 1817 and to the Angermünde district in the GDR district of Frankfurt (Oder) from 1952 . Since 1993 the places have been in the Brandenburg district of Uckermark.

On December 31, 2001, the three previously independent municipalities merged.

Zichow district

In the former Slavic village complex (place names originally Tzikow, Czichow , later Ziechow ), Zichow Castle was built during the German colonization in the 13th century . In 1288 the place appears for the first time in a deed of assignment from the monastery in Gramzow . From 1354 to 1447 the northern parts of the Uckermark and thus also Zichow belonged to Pomerania , then (until today) to Brandenburg.

The Zichower Church was rebuilt in 1713 after it fell into disrepair during the Thirty Years War .

Fredersdorf district

The oldest written mention of Fredersdorf can be found in a deed of purchase from the Gramzow monastery from 1580. It can be assumed that the place is older - it does not appear in Charles IV's land book from 1375 because it belongs to Pomerania . In 1678 40 Huguenots were settled in Fredersdorf , who founded their own (Reformed) parish. In the Thirty Years War the Fredersdorf Church was burned down and only rebuilt in 1703.

District of Golm

The name of the former manor developed from Golym, Golin zu Golm , which means "mountain" in Slavic . In 1354, Golm was first mentioned in negotiations between Ludwig the Roman and the Pomeranian Duke Barnim IV . From 1472 the various lines of the von Arnim family appeared as landowners in Golm. In 1711 the Golm Church was also rebuilt after the destruction in the Thirty Years War. In the 1920s, refugees from West Prussia settled in Golm. In 1774 Golm had 184 inhabitants. In 2005 the population was 156.
