Mark Landin is a municipality in the Uckermark district in Brandenburg, Germany. It is administered by the Oder-Welse office based in Pinnow .
geography
The municipality of Mark Landin is located between the towns of Schwedt / Oder , Prenzlau and Angermünde in the Uckermark region . Characteristic of the ground moraine are the numerous lakes in the valleys, of which the Landiner Haussee and under nature conservation standing Felchowsee be highlighted. The Landiner ditch drains part of the lakes to the Welse (a left tributary of the Oder ). The terrain drops in the west of the municipality to the Welsebruch by about 40 meters. The municipality is characterized by large arable land used for agriculture and the Landiner wind farm .

Mark Landin includes the districts Grünow , Landin and Schönermark as well as the residential areas Augustenhof, Hohenlandin, Julienwalde and the Netherlands.
history
By the Treaty of Landin from 1250, considered the birth of the Uckermark, Landin went down in history. The contract is also the first documentary mention of the place.
1860–1861 the Hohenlandin Palace ("Warburg House") was built in Tudor style by order of Baron Friedrich Wilhelm von Warburg (architect Ferdinand Neubarth ). This included a park - designed by the General Director of the Royal Prussian Gardens, Peter Joseph Lenné - as well as forests and fields.
In 1945, the castle was without compensation expropriated and has since 1977 empty. Since then it has to ruin expire. The community tries to keep the building.
In 2017, the district of Landin emerged as the winner of the nationwide competition "Our village has a future" in the Uckermark district.
Administrative history
Grünow, Hohenlandin, Netherlands and Schönermark belonged to the Angermünde district in the Prussian province of Brandenburg since 1817 and to the Angermünde district in the GDR district of Frankfurt (Oder) from 1952 . On January 1, 1974, Hohenlandin and the Netherlands merged to form the municipality of Landin. Since 1993 the places have been in the Brandenburg district of Uckermark.
The community of Mark Landin was created on December 31, 2001 from the merger of the previously independent communities of Grünow, Landin and Schönermark.

The municipality bears the coat of arms and the flag of the formerly independent municipality of Schönermark. This was confirmed in 1987 for the 700th anniversary and entered in the coat of arms. It is designed in the colors red, silver, gold and black, the red eagle marks the town of Schönermark as belonging to Brandenburg, the checkerboard pattern can be found in the church, which was built around 1250.

Economy and Infrastructure
In addition to agricultural operations, the Gesellschaft für Altlasten -verarbeitung Schönermark mbH has been based in the municipality since 1991 , which deals, among other things, with the clearing of military training areas and former ammunition plants as well as the investigation and clearance of ammunition and ordnance.

Mark Landin is located on the L 28 state road between Angermünde and Passow . In the south of the municipality, the new federal highway 2, completed in 2004, runs between Angermünde and Schwedt , which was laid out on two sides.
