The municipality of Hohenselchow-Groß Pinnow is located in the Uckermark district in northeast Brandenburg (Germany). The municipality is administered by the Gartz (Oder) office based in the city of the same name .
geography
The area of the municipality extends from the ground moraine area between the lower Oder and Randow over the steep drop (height difference approx. 50 m) to the Großer Bruch , part of the Oder glacial valley . The flat, undulating moraine landscape is used intensively for agriculture and is the location of numerous wind turbines . The next larger town is Schwedt / Oder (approx. 18 km away).
Community structure
In addition to the eponymous districts of Hohenselchow and Groß Pinnow , the municipality also includes the inhabited part of Heinrichshof and the residential areas Annettenhof , Frostenwalde , Helenenhof and Sophienhof .
history
Hohenselchow appeared in 1240, and Pinnow in 1261 for the first time in a document.
The community area belonged to the Prussian province of Pomerania until 1945 , within this to the Randow district until 1939 and after its dissolution to the Greifenhagen district . After the Second World War, Hohenselchow and Pinnow came to the new district of Randow in the state of Mecklenburg. Since the GDR district reform in 1950, both communities belonged to the Angermünde district , the state of Brandenburg and from 1952 to the Frankfurt (Oder) district .
With the restoration of the states in the GDR area , both communities came to the newly constituted state of Brandenburg in 1990 and have belonged to the Uckermark district since 1993 .
On October 26, 2003, the previously independent communities of Hohenselchow and Groß Pinnow were merged.

Hohenselchow large Pinnow lies on the national road L 27 between Casekow and Gartz . The federal road 2 (Gartz - Schwedt ) runs east of the municipality. The closest motorway junction is Penkun on the A 11 Berlin– Stettin .
The nearest train station is in the neighboring community of Casekow on the Berlin – Stettin railway line .
