Ayke Witt is a German pop singer from Klein Twülpstedt near Wolfsburg . In 2015, he took second place in the fifth season of the talent show The Voice of Germany .

Life

Ayke Witt grew up in a large family, he attended a Waldorf school and learned to play the guitar. He later performed solo or as a singer in the band Skyle in the Wolfsburg area.

In 2014, the talent scouts from Keep Your Light Shining noticed him through a YouTube video with a cover version of I let the light on for you by Revolverheld and invited him to the casting . He took part in the third broadcast of the television show and, as runner-up, just missed the final show.

Only one year later there was another chance to participate in a casting show on the station Pro Sieben - Sat.1 . He entered the fifth season of The Voice of Germany's blind auditions and joined Andreas Bourani's team . In the first live show he was elected by his coach. In the following semifinals, he and Tiffany Kemp were voted into the final by the audience.

Before the finale, Witt's own show song Bis, was released. Only he and Jamie-Lee Kriewitz made it into the charts with their songs before the final broadcast. Kriewitz won the final by a large margin (38.3%; for Witt 23.0%) and Witt was second just ahead of Kemp (21.9%). After the show ended, his song rose to number 28 in the official charts .
