The Bärenstein is an elevation in the Bohemian Forest (1,077 meters) and is located in the municipality of Ulrichsberg .
The excursion mountain can be climbed via hiking trails. The last meters to the summit cross can be overcome via a staircase. From here you can see the upper Mühlviertel ; in the north you can see the Lipno reservoir on the Vltava River, only a few kilometers away . When the weather is good, you can see as far as the Alps in the south .
The Bärenstein is the starting point of the Rupertiweg , a long-distance hiking trail that runs from here to the Austrian-Italian border.
