The Bärlochkar area is a protected forest (protected area number 100077) in Baden-Wuerttemberg that was designated by the Tübingen Corporate Forestry Directorate by ordinance of November 7, 1997 .

definition

In Baden-Württemberg, forest reserves are total reserves in which any use is prohibited by ordinance. In other countries in Germany, the total reserves are known as natural forest reserve , natural forest parcel , natural forest cell or natural forest . Forests are used for scientific research into natural processes in forests. Due to their wealth of structure and dead wood, ban forests are retreats for many endangered animal, plant and fungus species.

location

The 101.9 hectare Bannwald Bärlochkar , part of the Grindenschwarzwald and Enzhöhen natural area, is located north of the Gompelscheuer district of the Enzklösterle municipality. It is part of the Großes and Kleines Enztal protected landscape areas with side valleys (2.35.027) and also part of the Northern Black Forest bird protection area (DE-7415-441).

Protection purpose

According to the ordinance, an essential protection purpose is to secure the uninfluenced development of a spruce-fir forest ecosystem with its animal and plant species and to ensure the scientific observation of the development. This includes the protection of the habitats and communities that are located in the area, that change in the course of the dynamic development of the forest within the protected area, or that arise through the dynamic development.

care, support

The Bannwald Bärlochkar is scientifically supervised by the Forest Research and Research Institute Baden-Württemberg (BVA).
