Bågø (rarely also Baagø or Baagö ) is a Danish island in the Little Belt .
The island Bågø lies west of the island of Fyn ( dt. : Funen ) and forms its own parish Bågø Sogn , which until 1970 Harde bag Herred in Odense office was one and then to assens municipality in the County of Funen , with the municipal reform on 1 January In 2007 it was absorbed into the “new” Assens municipality in the Syddanmark region. There is a regular ferry connection to Assens on Fyn. Bågø belongs to the Association of Danish Small Islands .
Bågø is considered to have been inhabited for a very long time. The first lighthouse on the island was verifiably built in 1705. One reason for the early erection of a beacon is the island's central location on various ferry routes. The tower that can be found on the island today is from 1816. In 1872 Bågø was hit by a storm surge, and in 1880 a fire destroyed several farms on the island.
Bågø has 29 residents (as of January 1, 2020) on 6.23 km². The highest point of Bågø is only 8 meters high. There is a nature school on Bågø.
In the south of the island near Fiskerhusene lies the remainder of a Langdysse .
