Bælum is a place in the north of the Danish Jutland peninsula . Since the municipal reform on January 1, 2007, it has belonged to the Rebild municipality in the Nordjylland region and has 733 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). Before that, from April 1970 it was part of the municipality of Skørping in what was then Nordjyllands Amt , which in turn emerged from the rural municipality of Bælum-Solbjerg in Ålborg Amt .

Bælum was listed in King Waldemar's Earth Book in 1231 .
