Béla Bartalos (born July 6, 1948 in Polgárdi ) is a Hungarian handball coach , goalkeeper coach and former handball goalkeeper .

Career

The 1.82 m tall Bartalos started playing handball at school at the age of 16. First he played for third division club VT Vasas. For the first division club Szondy SE in Székesfehérvár he ran for ten years. With Tatabánya KC he became Hungarian champions in 1978 and 1979. Hungary's handball player of the year 1979 ended his career after winning the 1984 cup at KC Veszprém .

For the Hungarian national team Bartalos played a total of 288 international matches between 1970 and 1984 , in which he scored two goals. He took part in the World Championships in 1970 (8th place), 1974 (7th place), 1978 (9th place) and 1982 (9th place). At the Olympic Games he finished eighth in 1972 , sixth in 1976 and fourth in 1980 .

Béla Bartalos worked as head and goalkeeping coach in Kuwait for over 20 years . He was also employed by Veszprém and the Siófok KC women's team. He currently works for the Hungarian handball association.
