Bösenbach is a district and its own cadastral municipality of the city ​​of Deutschlandsberg in the state of Styria in Austria . Until 1941 it was a separate community; then until 1971 a separate place within the municipality of Deutschlandsberg.

In 1149 the Seckau monastery was confirmed to own vineyards in Bösenbach. At the end of the 18th century, the community of Bösenbach belonged to the advertising district of Feilhofen . Until the 19th century, the inhabitants were under the Frauenthal rule . The municipality of Bösenbach was assigned to the Deutschlandsberg district in 1854. In the 19th century there was a notable straw paper production in the village. On October 1, 1941, the municipality of Bösenbach, which consisted of the two localities or cadastral communities Bösenbach and Unterlaufenegg , was attached to the municipality of Deutschlandsberg. Since 1971 Bösenbach has also been integrated into the locality of Deutschlandsberg, so that today Bösenbach, together with the areas of the cadastral communities Deutschlandsberg, Hörbing, Burgegg, Warnblick, Leibenfeld, Sulz, Oberlaufegg and Unterlaufenegg, which all together form the village of Deutschlandsberg, form a joint mayor (2016 : Dietmar Kugler) has.

Irmgard Griss was born in Bösenbach on October 13, 1946. She was President of the Supreme Court and candidate for Federal President.
