Career

Bülent Kaan Bilgen spent his youth as a footballer at the Tyrolean regional division SC Schwaz, and in 1997 the then 20-year-old moved to the federal division FC Tirol Innsbruck .

In 1999 Bülent Bilgen went to Turkey for almost nine years, where he first played at Kocaelispor in the Süper Lig and the 1st Lig . The club won the Turkish Cup in 2002 and was thus allowed to compete in the UEFA Cup the following season , where they were eliminated in the first round. In the first leg, in which Bilgen wasn't even on the bench, Kocaelispor went down 4-0 at Ferencváros Budapest . In the second leg on October 3, 2002, which was also lost 1-0, the defender made his first and only UEFA Cup appearance. In his last season in Turkey, Bilgen was under contract with Körfez Belediyespor in the 3rd league , the fourth and lowest Turkish professional class. The now 31-year-old returned to Tyrol in the summer of 2008 on a free transfer to join FC Wacker Innsbruck, who had just been relegated from the Austrian Bundesliga .

Bilgen made his first league debut on July 18, 2008 against FK Austria Wien Amateure , when the defender came on in the 64th minute and scored the 3-0 final score in the 82nd minute with his only goal of the season so far. With FC Wacker Innsbruck, Bilgen was two points ahead of FC Admira Wacker Mödling and champion of the second-class Austrian first division in the 2009/10 season and thus rose with the team in the Bundesliga.

In summer 2012 he moved to SC Schwaz .
