Mayor of the western city (Theben-West)

The mayor of Westteben was an ancient Egyptian official title that has been used since the time of Ramses II at the earliest .

From the 19th dynasty , the number of temples on the west bank of Thebes continued to increase, so that more workers and temple employees were needed there, who also had to be looked after. For this purpose the office of the “Mayor of Westtoben” was introduced, who became the manager of the barns there and was responsible for the supply of the necropolis workers. He was also a “police chief”, that is, he monitored the royal tombs, guarded the prisoners and was the accuser against grave robbers .

In the hierarchy he was subordinate to the " Mayor of Thebes ".
