The 2021 / s was a two-axle narrow gauge - diesel locomotive of BBÖ with diesel-electric power transmission .
history
In 1927 it was originally motorized with a petrol unit and rented it from the manufacturer Warchalowski by the Zillertal Railway . It was used in the Zillertal in passenger transport and shunting. In January 1930 it was bought by the BBÖ and stationed on the Ybbstalbahn . In 1942, the Deutsche Reichsbahn reactivated the machine that had been parked since 1937 and converted it to gas operation. The performance was unsatisfactory, so after the Second World War it was fitted with a diesel generator. The ÖBB referred to the single item from 1953 as 2090.01. It was decommissioned in 2000 as Austria's oldest narrow-gauge diesel locomotive at that time and acquired by Club Mh.6 in Ober-Grafendorf on the Mariazellerbahn for museum preservation.
technical features
The 2090.01 originally had a riveted main frame that was subsequently welded. The locomotive body is supported by leaf springs on the wheel sets. In front of the driver's cab, which is located at the rear end of the frame, there is a narrow front structure in which the drive systems are housed. The locomotive is equipped with the central buffer coupling with lateral coupling spindles ("Bosna coupling"), which is typical in Austria for narrow-gauge railways . Originally fir green, it later had a blood orange paint, which was renewed in traffic red in its last years of operation .
The 2090.01 had an at their delivery Otto engine , the after operation with wood gas through a diesel engine has been replaced. The speed and tractive effort adapt to the trailer loads and the gradients of the route with constant engine speed and power. The locomotive has a vacuum brake, but does not have a Sifa .
commitment
The locomotive was stationed in Waidhofen an der Ybbs and was mainly used on the Ybbstalbahn in shunting, less often in service to Ybbsitz .
