BEHER or Bernardo Hernández is a manufacturer of Spanish ham with the Protected Designation of Origin D.O. Jamón de Guijuelo ( Guijuelo ham). The company's headquarters are in Guijuelo ( province of Salamanca ). Beher was founded in 1930 and is a third generation family company. Beher is now one of the 300 largest companies in Castile and León .

2001 and 2004 Beher of which was IFFA Delicat , the leading international trade fair for the meat industry in Frankfurt , as International Best Company awarded. His flagship product Bellota Oro (golden acorn ) was named the best ham in the world in 2007 and 2010, also by the IFFA .

Bernardo Hernández Blásquez founded the company at the beginning of 1930. In the 1970s, the founding son Bernardo Hernández García took over the company and began breeding Iberian pigs in their own facilities.

His sons are currently running the company, which today has a 2% market share in this sector. The company's products are exported to 30 countries on all continents, for example Hong Kong , Korea , Japan , Australia , Brazil , Russia and EU countries .

In 2010 the new facilities were inaugurated, which today cover a total of 19,500 m², including the highest bodega in the Guijuelo area of ​​origin with a height of 8 m.

BEHER covers the entire production process, starting with the breeding of the pigs in their own fincas through to cutting the ham by hand:

• Jamón Ibérico Bellota and Iberian Bellota ham.
• Bellota Iberian cured meats: lomo , chorizo , longaniza , bacon and salchichón .

• Etiqueta Oro (Golden Label): Bellota ham and shoulder ham. Selected for its high oleic acid content .
• Etiqueta Negra (black label): Bellota ham.
• Etiqueta Roja (Red Label): Bellota ham and shoulder ham.
• Sliced ​​goods: Sliced ​​by master slicer Anselmo Pérez, current champion in Spain in slicing ham.
