The BH205E-AC is a large dump truck from the Indian conglomerate Bharat Earth Movers Limited , which has been marketed since the mid-2010s and offered with engines from two different manufacturers.
Development history
The growing Indian mining industry requires dump trucks with high payload capacities, which are mostly bought in from foreign manufacturers. As part of the national economic development program Make in India , which was launched by the Indian government in 2014, imports were to be throttled in favor of domestic industry. In the course of this, the semi-state BEML group developed the BH205E-AC, which is intended for use in open-cast coal mining in the Singrauli district . The first BH205E-AC was handed over in September 2018. The BH205E-AC is considered to be the largest Indian dump truck.

Like many large dump trucks, the BEML BH205E-AC has a diesel-electric drive that eliminates the need for a manual gearbox and clutch , which in particular reduces maintenance requirements. The diesel engine drives a three-phase generator (type 5GTA41H (MTU), 5GTA41B (Cummins)) from General Electric .
