The Baath Dam , Arabic سد البعث, dams the Euphrates . It is located 22 kilometers upstream from Ar-Raqqah , Syria. It was built from 1983 to 1986.

Barrier structure

The height of the barrier structure is 14 m.

power plant

The power plant has an installed capacity of 75  MW . The first machine was put into operation in 1987, the other two in 1988.

As a result of the Turkish military offensive in northern Syria in 2019 , the Baath dam was taken over by the Syrian army .
