In the 1997 general election , he stood in the Kiang Central constituency as a candidate for the United Democratic Party (UDP) for a seat in the National Assembly . He was defeated by his opponent Musa Gallel J. Njadoe of the National Reconciliation Party (NRP). The parliamentary elections in 2002 were largely boycotted by the opposition parties, including the UDP, so there were no opposing candidates in the Kiang Central constituency. In 2007 Daffeh ran again in the parliamentary elections in his constituency and won it against the candidate Aba L. Yabou of the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC).

At the beginning of March 2012, Daffeh resigned from the UDP in order to run as an independent candidate in the following parliamentary elections in 2012 at the end of March. In the elections for a seat in the National Assembly, he was defeated by the opposing candidate Bubacarr S. Fadera (APRC).
