Babięty Wielkie ( German : Groß Babenz ) is a village in northern Poland in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . Babięty Wielkie is part of the Susz rural community in the powiat Iławski .

history

Due to the provisions of the Versailles Treaty , the population in the Marienwerder voting area , to which Groß Babenz belonged, voted on July 11, 1920 whether it would continue to belong to East Prussia (and thus Germany) or join Poland. In Groß Babenz, 104 residents voted to remain with East Prussia, while Poland did not vote.

In the years 1975-1998 the place was administratively in the former Elbląg Voivodeship .
