The village was first mentioned in 1184 when it was still called Pachaupt. However, this village name has not been preserved as the final designation. In 1284 it was renamed Pachaupten, in 1478 it was written in the name of Pachhauppten. At that time this meant something like "the main part of the brook" or "the main part of the upper part of the brook", ie "the origin of the Affalterbach ".

In 1190 Agnes von Loon (→ Grafschaft Loon ), the widow of Duke Otto I , in the presence of her son Ludwig, handed over an estate in Pachaupt to the Scheyern Monastery for the cure of her deceased husband to Georg Curbar (1752 Kürber) and lived on the in 1721 as an inheritance lawyer courtyard belonging to the Haimpertshofen church . Today this village is finally called Bachappen, since when this has been is not yet known.
