history
Walkersbach was first mentioned in a document in 1150 .
On January 1, 1972, the previously independent Walkersbach was incorporated into the city of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm as part of the municipal reform.
More recently, Walkersbach has undergone major changes through the land consolidation (1985–1996) and the village renewal program (since 2000).
On September 6, 2008, the number of "residents" briefly rose to almost 15,000 after a large "village festival" was celebrated for one day. Walkersbach had prevailed against almost 500 other locations in Bavaria in a competition organized by the radio broadcaster Bayern 3 and thus won, among other things, a performance by the band Reamonn in Walkersbach.
