Location and topography
The stream on Zietenstrasse rises at around 270 meters above sea level. NN on the Wollspinnersberg in Barmer Nordpark in the upper, eastern part of a fenced game reserve with red deer near the tower terraces .
It initially flows in a westerly direction. In the ravine-like valley it is accompanied by forest, which consists mainly of beeches ; the left bank is a little lighter. After 250 meters, the stream turns south and is dammed into ponds at the end of the enclosure, which are important as the only amphibian spawning waters in the north park. Then it passes under a hiking trail cased. In the further course it runs close to nature in a deep valley cut. At the height of the buildings on the upper Zietenstrasse, the brook is fortified with bank walls and bed sills.
In the further course of the last 400 meters, the stream is piped into the piped section of the Leimbach in this section, into which it flows 191 meters above sea level.
