background

According to the group members, the title Back to Now comes from previous songs in the group and is intended to be a reference to those. They want to continue where they left off in 1977.

The first single Roll Out , which was produced by Wyclef Jean , where he was also involved in vocals, was released on November 18, 2008. Auto-tune effects were used for the vocals .

Critics praised the modern contemporary R&B ballad Superlover on the album . Except in The Truth Will Set You Free, where Hendryx takes the lead vocals alongside Lenny Kravitz on guitar , the other songs were sung by all members. Was praised Labelle's soprano - singing in the title system . Tears for the World , a Hendryx composition, was also praised for the powerful and soulful singing of the members.

It includes Dear Rosa, a tribute to human rights activist Rosa Parks and a cover version of the Cole Porter standard Miss Otis Regrets , which Labelle was originally supposed to record for her debut album, Labelle .
