Bacup is a small town with just under 13,000 inhabitants in the Rossendale administrative district of Lancashire, England .
It is located in the South Pennines on the eastern border with West Yorkshire .
The place was created in the early Middle Ages during the settlement of England by the Anglo-Saxons .
