Bag Raiders are an Australian alternative - House - Duo , which in 2006 by DJs Chris Stracey and Jack Glass in Sydney was founded.

history

The members both completed classical training. Jack Glass and Chris Stracey met in the practice room of the Cranbrook School Orchestra. Glass played the piano and cello and Stracey played the violin , guitar and clarinet . In 2005 the duo met again and began mixing hip hop and the music of the 1970s rock music . Her musical inspirations include Earth, Wind & Fire , The Brothers Johnson , 808 State and Orbital . The Bag Raiders were founded as an alternative dance act in 2006.

The single Way Back Home from their self-titled debut album Bag Raiders was used in a Vodafone advertisement, which increased the song's popularity and made it into the top 20 on the iTunes charts. On June 3, 2011, the single entered the German charts at number 38 and reached the top 20 a week later. In Austria, too, the song entered the upper half of the chart. The accompanying studio album also reached a chart position in Germany and her home country.

In February 2017, the band's success celebrated a kind of comeback. This was done through the song Shooting Stars, released in 2009 , which was used as the background melody of so-called memes . Here people or animals can be seen flying "through space and time" by stumbling or falling in the midst of a surreal background that was added later. These representations are accompanied by the first few seconds of the piece of music without singing.
