Bagual (also El Bagual ) is a scattered settlement in the Tarija Department in the extreme south of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Bagual is the tenth largest town in the Caiza J canton in the Yacuiba municipality in the Gran Chaco province . Bagual is located at an altitude of 463 m three kilometers north of the Quebrada Yuquirenda, which flows over the Quebrada Sanja Honda to the Río Pilcomayo .

Bagual is located on the southeast edge of the Bolivian Andes chain in the lowlands of the subtropical Gran Chaco , which stretches across northwest Paraguay , northeast Argentina and southeast Bolivia.
The climate is subtropical with hot humid summers and moderately warm and dry winters. The annual average temperature is almost 22 ° C, the average monthly values fluctuate between 15 ° C in June / July and 26 ° C in January (see Yacuiba climate diagram). The annual precipitation is almost 1100 mm, with a four-month dry season from June to September with monthly precipitation below 15 mm and a humidity period from December to March with 160 to 200 mm monthly precipitation.

Transport network
Bagual lies at a distance of 336 kilometers by road southeast of Tarija , the capital of the department.
From Tarija, the Ruta 11 trunk road leads east over the cities of Entre Ríos and Palos Blancos for 250 kilometers to Villamontes . There it meets the north-south running Ruta 9 , which leads south via Sachapera to Villa El Carmen and on via Palmar Chico and Yacuiba to the Argentine border.
In Villa El Carmen, a dirt road branches off to the east from Ruta 9 and reaches Bagual via Caiza “J” , Villa Ingavi after 24 kilometers and Crevaux on the Pilcomayo River after another 53 kilometers .
