The Bahía Uribe ( Spanish ) is a bay in the northeast of the Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located west of Cape Van Rijswijck and opens to the Schollaert Canal .
Chilean scientists named it after Admiral Luis Uribe Orrego (1847-1914), who was part of the crew of the corvette Esmeralda on May 21, 1879 in the naval battle of Iquique .
