The Büdingen (Oberhess) train station is a train station in the city of Büdingen . The train station is in the heart of the city and is on the Gießen – Gelnhausen railway line ( Lahn-Kinzig-Bahn ). In addition to the train station in Büdingen, there is also the Büches-Düdelsheim stop in the Büches district .
history
The station was opened on October 30, 1870 as the end point of the third section of the Lahn-Kinzig-Bahn ( Nidda –Büdingen). The client was the Upper Hessian Railway Company . Exactly one month later, the railway line was then extended to Gelnhausen and thus completed over its entire length.
The reception building of the station is now a cultural monument by the Hessian Monument Protection Act . The station building is now owned by a private investor and has not served as a station for years. The state is ailing and depraved.
traffic
Büdingen is in the tariff area of the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV). The station has one house platform and two intermediate platforms. The station also has a few freight or stabling tracks , which are only used occasionally.
Rail transport
Only the regional trains of HLB Hessenbahn GmbH stop in Büdingen (Gießen – Nidda – Glauburg-Stockheim-Gelnhausen). The house platform (track 1) is no longer used in scheduled traffic. The first intermediate platform (platform 2) is approached by the trains in the direction of Gelnhausen . Track 3 is used by trains with their destination Nidda / Gießen . There is a 60-minute cycle in both directions, which is supplemented by individual half-hourly connections to and from Nidda during rush hour. Gießen can be reached in around 75 minutes by train, Frankfurt (with a change in Gelnhausen to RE 50) in around an hour.
The Lahn-Kinzig-Bahn also offers other transfer options in Nidda (with RB 48 towards Friedberg / Frankfurt) and in Glauburg-Stockheim (with RB 34 towards Bad Vilbel / Frankfurt).
