The Kreis-Anzeiger is a regional daily newspaper that appears Monday to Saturday and is based in Nidda . The distribution area includes the eastern Wetteraukreis and southern Vogelsberg . The sold circulation is 9,922 copies, a decrease of 40.1 percent since 1998.
The Kreis-Anzeiger is also the official bulletin of the cities of Büdingen , Nidda and Ortenberg as well as Schotten in the Vogelsbergkreis. While the cover part is taken over by the Gießener Anzeiger , the local pages, the regional sports pages, the local business page and special pages are created in the editorial office in Nidda .
The Kreis-Anzeiger was first published in 1792. It was printed in Büdingen until around 1957. In addition to the daily newspaper Kreis-Anzeiger , the Wetterau and Vogelsberg publishers also publish the weekly titles tipp and Sonntag Anzeiger .
The publisher belongs to the newspaper group Zentralhessen, which also publishes the daily newspapers Gießener Anzeiger , Gelnhäuser Tageblatt , Lauterbacher Anzeiger , Usinger Anzeiger and Oberhessische Zeitung . After financial difficulties, the Rhein Main publishing group, based in Mainz, acquired a majority stake in the Gießen publishing group in 2003. The Rhein Main publishing group has been the 100 percent owner of Gießener Anzeiger Verlagsgesellschaft since 2014.

The Kreis-Anzeiger has lost a lot of its circulation in recent years . The number of copies sold has fallen by an average of 2.8% per year over the past 10 years. Last year it decreased by 4.5%. It is currently 9922 copies. The share of subscriptions in the circulation sold is 91 percent.
